What is Mental Fitness?

By Coach Pauline Mahu

“The path of ease & flow is the path of the Sage, not the path of the Saboteurs.” — Shirzad Chamine, founder and author of Positive Intelligence®

Have you heard of Positive Intelligence mental fitness training?

Mental Fitness is your capacity to respond to life’s challenges with a positive rather than a negative mindset – and your ability to shift quickly & deeply from one to the other.

PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient) measures the relative strength of your positive mental muscles (Sage) versus the negative mental muscles (Saboteur).

Independent researchers have validated this measure to be the greatest predictor of how happy you are, and how well you perform against your potential. This program combines the latest breakthroughs in neuroscience, cognitive & positive psychology and performance science.

Research included 500,000 participants (CEOs, sales, operation & technology teams, elites athletes, Standford students) from 50 countries. The research was summarized in Shirzad Chamine’s book Positive Intelligence, a New York Times best seller translated into 20 languages. This is a 6-week intensive program with the ultimate goal of building a foundation of mental fitness by strengthening three core muscles — Saboteur Interceptor, Self-Command and Sage — in order to shift the balance of power from the inner Saboteurs (negative self) to the inner Sage (positive self).

The Positive Intelligence® (PQ) Program provides structured guidance and exercises to enhance your mental fitness.  Mental Fitness is about having the tools and skills to live your life well. It’s about having great relationships, doing the work you need to do, and dealing with life's highs and lows.

It’s about practicing and applying those skills so you experience more positive rather than negative emotions.

I often get asked how PQ reps differ from meditation and mindfulness. Meditation is a  specialized form of doing PQ Reps. PQ Reps are innovative 10-sec sensorial exercises that are simple, accessible, can be done anywhere, anytime, with eyes open, and which you bring into any moment of your day.

The same way you do physical exercise to keep your body fit, doing PQ Reps helps you build mental muscles to keep your mind fit.

👉🏼 Try this: Every time you wash your hands, feel the temperature of the water, smell the fragrance of the soap, watch the bubbles form as you rub your hands and fingers against one another, listening to the water splashing. By repeating this every single day, you build awareness of your body and give your thinking mind a break, tapping into parts of your brain where calm, empathy, creativity, innovation lie.

Why not take the free test that will help you identify your top saboteurs?

I have taken many clients through the Mental Fitness course and watched them deepen the access to their inner Sage, becoming less stressed, less angry, less frustrated and more calm, more creative, more innovative and more laser-focused in their actions.

To conclude, this is an innovative method I’m authorized and trained to guide my clients through alongside Positive Intelligence® founder, Shirzad Chamine.
